Goals

  1. Develop graduates’ social skills, and increase their awareness of other cultures’ values, perspectives, and realities, as well as self-understanding.
  2. Increase the visibility and Societal Impact of the School nationally and internationally.

Benchmark 9: Leadership education

Metric: Percent of students participating in clubs and/or professional society activities.
Target: Provide a minimum 80 % of certified majors direct participation in student clubs and/or professional society activities.
Impact:

Benchmark 10: Diversity of students, faculty and staff

Metric: Percent of minority, women and international students.
Target: Peer average, reflect state and make annual progress towards goals
Impact: The diversity of students, faculty and staff is a major goal of the university and the college.

Benchmark 11. Student placement

Metric: Percent placed in industry/grad school upon graduation
Target: 90%
Impact: The professional nature of this college requires a high premium on the placement of our graduates in regional, national, and international industrial enterprises. The school will actively investigate state-of-the-art industrial practices, and prepare students for integration into top-ranked graduate programs in the U.S. and abroad, and placement in regional, national and international corporations.

Strategies

  1. Foster strong interaction with alumni holding leadership positions in industry, government and academia.
  2. Develop outreach programs to K-12 students and teachers.
  3. Develop new student centers of excellence (See Appendix D)
