Our group carries out basic and applied research mainly in three fields: Advanced Marine Vehicles, Acoustics, and Unmanned Aerial Systems.
Our efforts on Advanced Marine Vehicles are focused on aero-hydrodynamics, dynamics and design of high-performance marine vehicles, including jet-supported amphibious platforms, wing-in-ground craft, air-lubricated hulls, hydrofoils, and small-waterplane-area ships.
In the area of Acoustics we conduct fundamental studies of heat-sound interactions in resonators, develop miniature thermoacoustic engines, and model acoustic instabilities in chambers with mean flow and heat release.
Also, we have recently started development of Unmanned Aerial Systems for special applications.

Graduate Research Assistantship

in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) on fast boats is currently available in my group. US citizenship is required. A graduate student will learn/apply CFD for promising novel boat concepts and model/study associated complex flow phenomena.
